Our most successful Festival of Trees ever! This year we saw over 2100 visitors and grossed over \u00a0$30,000 – an all new record! \u00a0All profits from this fundraising event will go towards 2018 teacher grants benefiting Reading Public Schools.<\/p>\n

A special thank you\u00a0to<\/strong>: our event sponsor, the Reading Rotary Club<\/a>; our crystal sponsors: Bertucci’s in Reading<\/a>,\u00a0Pamplemousse<\/a>, and the Janowski Family; and our snowflake sponsors: O’Connor Studio<\/a>s and RSM US LLP<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0addition, much appreciation<\/strong> to\u00a0Sartell Electric<\/em>\u00a0for lighting;\u00a0Bertucci\u2019s in Reading<\/em>\u00a0for the pizza and dinner fare; the Woburn Showcase Cinema<\/em>\u00a0and Reading IMAX\u00a0<\/em>for donating popcorn; the\u00a0Rea<\/em>ding Rotary Club<\/em>\u00a0for donating candy and cotton candy, and staffing the food booth;\u00a0Professors Market\u00a0<\/em>for the delicious desserts; Reading Stop & Shop <\/em>for donating cookie frosting;\u00a0Jackie and Mario Antimone\u00a0<\/em>for donating paper goods;\u00a0Lauren Bennett\u00a0<\/em>for our festive posters and logos;\u00a0Reading Cooperative Bank<\/em>\u00a0for the water; Reading Facilities Department,\u00a0<\/em>Parker Middle School \u00a0<\/em>and the\u00a0Custodial crew\u00a0<\/em>for the space, electrical technology and support; Daniel\u00a0<\/em>Tompkins\u00a0<\/i>for making the risers;\u00a0Kenzie Neary<\/em> for the photography;\u00a0Alice Grimes and Lu Yao Friedmann<\/em> for help with preparation and organizing our high school volunteers; \u00a0all our wonderful volunteers\u2013students and adults alike; and of course, our beloved Silent Auction & Tree donors<\/em> (see a complete listing at the end of this post).<\/p>\n

This year we focused on local entertainment, and had a fabulous array of adult and youth musicians, singers and story-tellers. A heartfelt thanks to our adult performers: Reading Community Concert Band, the Colonial Chorus Players, Voices of Hope choral group, and singer Taylor Hilliard; <\/em>and for the\u00a0wonderful performances from our inspiring youth: CBTWEEN, The Means of Production, RMHS Select Chorus, RMHS Jazz Band, Coolidge Bell Choir, and<\/em> Violins by Vivienne Langlois and Graham Hardin. <\/em>Last but not least, thank you to\u00a0Creative Arts<\/em>\u00a0for the popular\u00a0card-making activity, and leading the sing-a-long; as well as to our favorite storyteller,\u00a0Eileen Litterio<\/em>.<\/p>\n
