Thank you all for a very successful Festival of Trees in 2019!<\/strong> Over 2,400 people attended and REF raised over $30,000 in profits which will go directly toward 2020 Teacher Grants. Without the support from local businesses, school and community groups, individuals and volunteers, our festival would not be possible. Together we have made this \u00a0entertaining and rewarding holiday tradition a key fundraiser benefiting Reading\u2019s students! A special thank you to:<\/strong>\u00a0our event sponsor the\u00a0Reading Rotary Club<\/a>; our community sponsors:\u00a0Pamplemousse,<\/a> Columbo’s Pizza & Cafe<\/a>, and Geno Grande and his food truck; and our individual sponsor Karen Janowski.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

In addition, much appreciation for:<\/strong>\u00a0the\u00a0Reading Rotary Club<\/em>\u00a0for donating candy and cotton candy, and staffing the food booth;\u00a0Columbo’s<\/em> for the pizza;\u00a0Woburn Showcase Cinema<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Reading IMAX\u00a0<\/em>for donating popcorn;\u00a0Michelle Greenwalt, the Sweet Treat Baker<\/em>\u00a0for the delicious cookies;\u00a0Reading Stop & Shop\u00a0<\/em>for donating cookie frosting;\u00a0Jackie and Mario Antimone<\/em> for paper products; Creative Arts\u00a0<\/em>for card making station;\u00a0Lauren Bennett\u00a0<\/em>for our festive posters and logos;\u00a0Eric Rzepka <\/em>for IT support;\u00a0Reading Facilities Department,\u00a0Parker Middle School \u00a0<\/em>and the\u00a0Custodial crew\u00a0<\/em>for the space, electrical technology and support; the\u00a0Reading Public Library<\/em>\u00a0for helping to promote our event.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Thank you to our fabulous FOT committee<\/strong>, the super volunteers who make this whole event possible: Kathy Kinney, Ann Cruickshank, Alyssa Gallegos, Heather Stepler, Jeanne Cappuccio, Julia Cahill-O’Shea, Karen Richardson, Sheila Baxter, Lindsey McCarthy, Laura LaFrancesca, and Annemarie Ring.<\/em> In addition, special thanks to our wonderful students volunteers<\/strong> including our student volunteer organizers Rachel Grimes<\/em> and Caroline Hugo<\/em>. And of course, deep appreciation and thanks to our beloved\u00a0Tree donors<\/em>\u00a0(see a complete listing at the end of this post).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

We focused on\u00a0local entertainmen<\/strong>t again this year, and had a fabulous array of adult and youth musicians, singers and story-tellers. A heartfelt thanks to our adult performers:\u00a0Reading Community Concert Band and singer Taylor Hilliard;\u00a0<\/em>and for the\u00a0wonderful performances from our inspiring youth:\u00a0RMHS Color Guard, RMHS Select Chorus, RMHS Jazz Band, RMHS Small Ensembles, Coolidge Middle School Wind Chimes & Small Ensembles, Parker Middle School Performers,\u00a0Ben Mini and Julia Mullen, CBTween<\/em>, Caleb Cascio and<\/em>\u00a0Claire Benjamin.\u00a0<\/em>Last but not least, thank you to\u00a0our favorite storyteller,\u00a0Eileen Litterio<\/em> and Shanna Fusco<\/em> for the sing-a-long. We could not have done it without you and all the support from this community!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
